The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions from UN Member States. UNRWA also receives some funding from the Regular Budget of the United Nations, which is used mostly for international staffing costs.The Agency’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, micro finance and emergency assistance, including in times of armed conflict.
The Welfare Association (WA) is an independent non-profit organization established in 1983 by a group of Palestinian business and intellectual figures to provide development and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank including Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, 1948 Areas, and the Palestinian communities in Lebanon.

Weltfriedensdienst e.V. (WFD) was founded in 1959 in Berlin, Germany, as a politically and confessionally open working group. The formation of the society was a response to the horrendous experiences of the Second World War and also to Germany’s decision to re-arm. In accordance with the vision of the sociologist and philosopher Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy, who penned the name WFD, people were to be given an opportunity to make a contribution to overcoming conflict and poverty in the world through cooperative work.
